Squad Session

After the success of the British motivation in harder to instill in the athletes. We achieved a peak for the British Championships its only natural to experience a lull in intent from the athletes. I call it 'the morning after syndrome'.

We utilise this time to go back to basics and pay attention to detail with a technical session. breaking down the mechanics of any given technique and build it back up. We tend to now work with individual athlete concerns to solve the issues that arose during the afore mentioned chamnpionships.

4 x gold
1 x silver
6 x Bronze

This is a momentus achievement for us and confirms that we must be doing something right!!! Check out our videos on you tube 'peak4karate'.

Weight Training

All on my todd today so I decided go for a PB on the power cleans. 100k x 2. YEh, happy with that but it felt heavy on the back. I will invest in a belt and some weight-lifting shoes for safety. Finished with some squats and benching.

ciao

EKF Regional Squad Session

Wed 2 Sept

The usual suspects turned up with some notable absences too. My coaching style is a slow methodical process with significant changes made over time. I can appreciate athletes do not get the full benefit of my sessions due to inconsistancy. This makes it difficult for me to coach them in competition as my coaching on the day often relates to something we have done in training. I am enjoying the coaching relationship between the coaches at the moment, we bounce off each other well offering a constant source of new ideas.

Today we rehursed short, sweet drills at intensity but short duration to prepare for the BKF. The athletes have worked hard to this point and i'm sure the will get out exactly what they have put in.
